Canakkale, is a war that has never happened before. Never has a war like that happened before where 250 000 people died right over there within a short period of time. For what? They didn’t go there to protect their houses, to protect their wealth, to protect their children. They went there, to protect Islam. To protect Khalifah, to protect the flag of Islam. And they died.
They sacrifice their lives. And if you go there one day you will see where the enemy’s lines are. If the Turskish soldier and the Kurdish together they were fighting, if they were on that wall, the enemies were on that wall (Sheykh Effendi pointing to the wall at the dergah). That’s how near they were to each other. And so many times, order is given, ‘no bullet. Put your bayonet on the guns and attack.’ And they were attacking. That’s how the war was. Ten meters. I went and I see those borders there.
I’ve been to war. I know how a war is, but when I see that, I said this people definitely they were something else. Definitely, there were different spirits with them. Impossible otherwise.
So, 250 000, they put their body as a protection of Islam. Through their bodies, they built walls. The enemies, they couldn’t pass. The enemies, they found themselves buried inside those waters (Strait of Canakkale). Almost same amount, maybe more than that, enemies side died. That war, more than half a million people died.
Muslims today, they don’t even know nothing about it. Right this minute that we are talking here, in those cities in those areas, people are jumping up and down. They are womanizing, they are making adultery, they brought every western ideas there. Under what they are stepping, hundreds of thousands of Shuhada, that they have no shroud, they were buried with their clothes. They couldn’t bury them no more. They were just taking dirt and covering and walking.
That was the war. And they didn’t lose the war, they win the war. They win the war, they gave their life to protect Islam, to protect Khalifah.
